Slumdog Millionaire box office earnings stand at US$ 243,443,965. This is a record of sorts for a film that was produced with a small budget of US$ 15 million.
Slumdog Millionaire that won eight awards at Oscars last month grossed US$ 126,454,378 from domestic market while it generated US$ 116,989,587 from overseas collection.
Besides Oscars the film has already won Golden Globes and Bafta. The film’s lead actor and actress are already getting meaty roles’ offers from both Hollywood and bollywood.
There are two aspects of the film. In the West the film is being commended as one of the best films produced last year, but in India people are protesting against the film and the wrong image of India that it has presented.
