Wedding Season in Bollywood

but it sure is raining weddings in Bollywood. Two of Hindi cinema's actresses have gone ahead to indulge in marital bliss in the last week and the film fraternity flocked to be a part of the dual celebrations.

As we reported previously, first on the list was the bubbly Ayesha Takia. She wed her boyfriend of two years, hotelier Farhan Azmi. The couple were to originally wed late last year but decided to postpone their wedding plans due to the Mumbai Terror Attacks in November. However, they went ahead on the 1st of March and had a quiet nikaah amongst family and close friends. This was followed by a fancy reception the next day which was attended by the Bollywood brigade in all its grandeur. The likes of Abhishek Bachchan with mom Jaya, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Suneil Shetty, Rohit Shetty, Nauheed Cyrusi, Nandita Mahtani, Nagesh Kukunoor and many more came out to wish the couple and give their best wishes. Takia looked ravishing in a gold embellished lengha and in true tradition kept her head covered to show respect. Takia has gone on record to say that she will adopt her husband's last name making her the new Mrs. Ayesha Azmi.

Amrita Arora followed very closely after. She was all set to marry her boyfriend, businessman Shakeel Ladhak in a local Mumbai church on March 2nd, when she was informed that she would have to call off the ceremony because of security issues. Fortunately, Amu was prepared and the wedding parade headed the following day to a local restaurant and watched her walk down the aisle. Arora was dressed in a white dressed embellished in pearls looking smashing along with her bridesmaids, best friend Kareena Kapoor, Sister Mallaika Arora-Khan and make-up artist Mallika Bhatt.

While shooting for a special item song for Anil Kapoor’s Short Kut , Amrita Rao had an embarrassing situation. Her choli slipped off completely. However, Amrita quickly regained composure, pulled up her choli and rushed back to her vanity van. She came back after a few minutes and started shooting again as if nothing had happened.

Our source from the sets says, “Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor were shooting for this special sequence at a studio in Powai. Sanju was in the vanity van when Anil Kapoor and Amrita Rao were shooting for the mukhda of the song ‘Mariz e mohabbat’. Suddenly Amrita’s choli slipped. She acted fast and gracefully pulled up the choli and went back to her vanity van. She came back after some time and acted as if nothing had happened and continued shooting. The costume was designed by Manish Malhotra and Bosco was the choreographer. After that, Anil Kapoor warned everyone on the sets that this piece of information should not leak out to the media.”

Of course, Amrita Rao denied the incident and said, “It’s not true and nothing like this happened.”

Choreographer Bosco was more ambivalent about it. He said, “We shot for the song but I didn’t notice anything of this sort.”

Amrita Arora has bagged the lead role for Director producer Nileish Malhotra’s forthcoming flick ‘Monopoly- The game of Money’ opposite Karan Khanna. “We needed a young, pretty and talented girl for the role. Amrita is the perfect fit for this character,” comments Nileish Malhotra.
Nileish is planning to shoot his film in the unexplored and still virgin locations of Richmond (British Columbia) to infuse freshness in the picturesque background. Shooting of the film is planned from end August to end September.

Actress Amrita Arora has been opted out of Kamal Sadanah’s forthcoming remake film Victoria 203. This film stars Jimmy Shergill, Anupam Kher and Om Puri. The film will be directed Anant Mahadevan. According to her, she is out because of contractual problem. She explained that the contract was very restrictive and it was not possible for her since she is committed to other work as well. However, Amrita is working on Atul Agnihotri’s next film called Hello. She has tied up with a show for Castrol in Delhi and Mumbai in February and March.
